Steve Figgins has been appointed to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Advisory Panel for Emerging Contaminants (APEC)

Florham Park, NJ - Steve Figgins, Matrix New World Engineering, Inc.'s Director of Western Operations, will be serving on the Board for an initial one year term. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality's mission is to protect and enhance public health, welfare and the environment in Arizona. It was established in response to growing concerns about groundwater quality. ADEQ today administers a variety of programs to protect the health and welfare of the citizens and ensure the quality of Arizona's air, land and water resources meets healthful, regulatory standards.

ADEQ is forming this panel to provide a forum for open discussion of emerging contaminants, with the objective of developing approaches to ensure that Arizona's waters are safe for drinking and other uses. This panel will discuss emerging contaminants and pathogens in water and how to detect, remove, and remediate them, to protect groundwater for the public.
