Matrix Eco Team to Present Two Abstracts
at Passaic River Symposium V
Today's Status Tomorrow's Perspective

Florham Park, NJ - Matrix New World Engineering, Inc. (Matrix) is pleased to announce their submissions of "Old Place Creek Marsh Restoration: An Approach to Restoration of a Degraded Urban Salt Marsh" iand "The Effectiveness of Using the Gulf Savers® Bag for Spartina alterniflora in Marsh Restoration at Popcorn Beach" abstracts have been accepted by the Passaic River Institute. The abstracts will be presented by Matrix's Derron LaBrake, PWS and Alan Parsons, PhD at the Passaic River Symposium V at Montclair State University.

Providing an in depth scientific analysis the first abstract discusses the goals for ecological restoration at Old Place Creek (23.75 acres/4 parcels) located in Staten Island, New York. Originally retained by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Matrix prepared conceptual designs for the parcels and addressed potential ecological risks for the salt marsh's wildlife; Matrix is currently preparing a final design for US Army Corps of Engineers NY District.

In effort to support marsh restoration, Matrix utilizes the Gulf Savers® bag first deployed at Popcorn Beach, Pass a Loutre WMA, Venice, LA. The self-contained bag is composed of a biodegradable shell filled with native plants with site-specific custom mixed feed and nutrients. After deployment in December 2010 it is evident that the Gulf Savers® bags are effectively working in a push to revitalize the marshlands of Louisiana.

Please join us as we recognize our ECO Team's accomplishments at the October 19, 2012 Passaic River Symposium V.
